Both GAIN and our clearing firm, Ridge Clearing & Outsourcing Solutions, Inc. are members of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC), which protects securities and cash of the customers of its members up to a maximum of $500,000, of which $100,000 may be cash. Through our clearing firm we offer additional insurance through a group of London Underwriters (with Lloyd's of London Syndicates as the Lead Underwriter) to supplement SIPC protection. This additional insurance becomes available to customers in the event that SIPC limits are exhausted and will provide account protection for securities and cash up to an aggregate of $600 million. This is provided to pay amounts in addition to those returned in a SIPC liquidation. This additional insurance is limited to a combined return to any customer from a Trustee, SIPC and London Underwriters of $150 million, including cash of up to $2 million. We also offer FDIC insured bank sweeps that are insured up to at least $250,000 per depositor until December 31, 2009. On January 1, 2010, FDIC deposit insurance for all deposit accounts-except for certain retirement accounts-will return to at least $100,000 per depositor. Insurance coverage for certain retirement accounts, which include all IRA deposit accounts, was increased permanently to $250,000 per depositor in 2006.
GAIN Securities offers regular session trading from 9:30 AM - 4:15 PM ET. Currently, we do not provide the ability to trade during the extended hours trading session, however customers may enter trades anytime online at their convenience.

GAIN Securities offers a variety of security features to protect your account.
If there are three failed attempts to login to your account, your user ID will be locked and no one will be able to access the account until you call us directly. In addition, we will prompt you periodically to reset your password.
We also provide you with a trade authorization password (using an onscreen keyboard) that offers an extra layer of protection against fraud in case your login credentials are compromised. You will need to enter a unique password prior to submitting any online transaction-you can reset this password at any time by logging in to you account and going to the Preferences page (located under Support).
If you haven't previously used the site, register your account by following these steps:

The minimum required deposit to open an account at GAIN Securities is $500.
To check your application status, log in to your account using the User ID and password you created when you completed your application, then go to Application Status (located under Support) to see your status. Until your account status is complete, you will have basic (but limited) access to the website's tools and features. Please allow up to one full business day for your account application to be processed and for your status to be updated.
We accept checks and/or certificates by standard, certified or overnight mail. When depositing security certificates, please have all registered holders provide an original signature either on the back of the certificate or on a Stock Bond Power form. Please also provide your account number, but do not write in the shaded areas or corners of stock certificates.

back to topTo transfer in funds from another brokerage account, you will need to first have an account with GAIN Securities that has matching title and registration information. Once you have your account established with us, you can quickly transfer cash and securities held at another financial institution into your GAIN Securities account. We simply need a completed copy of our transfer form and a recent account statement from your current firm, and we will take care of the rest.
